An Oyinbo man has sparked widespread discussion on social media after issuing a cautionary message to Nigerians regarding U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent statements about Nigeria. The man expressed skepticism about the true intentions behind Trump’s remarks, urging Nigerians to remain vigilant and critically evaluate the situation.

According to him, there is a need for caution because what is being presented as humanitarian concern may, in reality, be driven by hidden self-interest rather than genuine concern for the safety and well-being of Nigerians.

Trump Highlights Alleged Genocide Against Christians

Trump had publicly claimed that there is an ongoing genocide against Christians in Nigeria and called on the Nigerian government to act immediately to prevent further violence. He emphasized that if the situation was not addressed, the U.S. could potentially intervene militarily to stop the perpetrators.

The statement quickly drew reactions from multiple quarters, ranging from supportive to highly critical, as Nigerians debated the validity and motivation behind the U.S. President’s claims.

Nigerian Government Responds

In response to Trump’s claims, the Nigerian government, under President Bola Tinubu, issued an official statement stressing that Nigeria recognizes all religions and does not endorse genocide against any group. The government further warned against misrepresentation of Nigeria’s domestic issues by foreign actors for political purposes, emphasizing its commitment to maintaining peace and security in the country.

Social Media Reactions Question Trump’s Motives

On TikTok, user @yosin.6 shared a video in which the Oyinbo man questioned the sincerity of Trump’s statements regarding Nigeria. He argued that Trump’s intentions are not rooted in humanitarian concern but rather in self-interest, suggesting that the true motivation behind the U.S. President’s threat is to gain access to Nigeria’s abundant oil resources.

In his video, he stressed the need for Nigerians to critically assess such foreign interventions, stating that external powers rarely act without ulterior motives. According to him, the only real objective behind the intervention threat is Nigeria’s oil wealth, and the general populace should not be deceived by the façade of humanitarian concern.

He was quoted saying:

“Bro, he’s lying. Nigerians, listen, Trump isn’t coming here to help us. Nobody helps anyone for free. You need to understand, the only thing he wants is our oil. That’s it. So don’t be fooled. Stay alert and know what’s really going on.”[/p>

The video has since gone viral, garnering thousands of views and sparking conversations about international intervention, resource exploitation, and the complex geopolitics surrounding Nigeria.
