Popular social media activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) has spoken in detail about his dramatic mid-air clash with comedian Mr. Jollof during a United Nigeria Airlines flight from Asaba to Lagos. The confrontation, which stemmed from their long-standing online beef, quickly escalated into a physical altercation that has since dominated social media discussions.
According to VDM, the incident unfolded shortly after takeoff when tensions between the two men erupted onboard the aircraft. Passengers were left stunned as the online feud spilled into real life, forcing crew members and fellow passengers to intervene. The viral video of the clash has since sparked widespread commentary across various platforms.

Narrating the encounter on his Instagram page, VDM shared that the altercation could have been far more dangerous if not for a shocking moment during the fight. He described how Mr. Jollof bit him during the scuffle, a moment he claimed snapped him back to reality and prevented the situation from escalating into something much worse.
He said:
“Something in me is really happy that Jollof bite me. I swear to God. That was when I came back to reality. I want to actually appreciate him for biting me, because my enemies would have mocked me. The whole situation could have gone south. Honestly, it would have gone south. But thank God it did not end up like that.”
VDM also mentioned comedian Funnybone, stating that he had no problem with him and could not understand why Funnybone appeared to be restraining him in a way that allowed Mr. Jollof to attack. He expressed confusion over the role Funnybone played during the chaos.
The incident has sparked heated debates online, with many Nigerians condemning both men for engaging in a fight inside a confined aircraft cabin, where even minor disruptions can pose serious risks. Critics have questioned how personal disputes and online provocations continue to escalate into real-life confrontations.
VDM maintains that his decision to restrain himself prevented the altercation from turning into a potentially catastrophic situation. He emphasized that the consequences could have been far more severe inside an aircraft thousands of feet above ground.
Both VDM and Mr. Jollof were eventually deboarded and now face possible sanctions. The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has strongly condemned their behaviour, warning that penalties including prosecution, fines, or even no-fly restrictions may be imposed.
