Nollywood actor Taye Arimoro has taken legal action against actress and producer Peggy Ovire, filing a formal complaint in which he demands a public apology and ₦100 million in damages over an alleged assault that reportedly occurred on a movie set.
In a letter dated November 18, 2025, issued by Inibehe Effiong Chambers, Arimoro stated that his fundamental rights were violated while he was carrying out his duties on the production.

According to him, his contractual agreement ended at 11:59 PM on November 11, but when he attempted to leave the location afterwards, he was allegedly prevented from doing so.
The complaint notes that Arimoro’s vehicle was blocked by the production manager, and another car allegedly obstructed the exit path, leaving him concerned for his safety. Feeling threatened, he reportedly launched an Instagram Live session to capture and document the unfolding situation.
The confrontation allegedly intensified at the estate gate, where Peggy Ovire and members of her team reportedly confronted him, leading to a chaotic scene.
Arimoro claims that his car tyres were deflated, he was surrounded by multiple individuals, and he sustained injuries including a fractured mandible, bite marks, and several bruises. He further alleged that his phone was tampered with during the incident.
His legal representatives argued that the ordeal infringed on his rights to personal liberty, free movement, and human dignity, causing him physical harm, emotional distress, and financial losses due to missed earnings.
They are demanding a public video apology to be posted across all of Peggy Ovire’s social media platforms, in addition to a financial compensation of ₦100 million for the alleged violations and damages suffered.
Peggy Ovire has been given seven days to respond to the petition. As of the time of this report, she has not issued any public statement addressing the allegations.
