Human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, has offered a more detailed explanation of why he is standing firmly behind actress Regina Daniels in the midst of her ongoing marital crisis with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
Sowore, who became deeply involved after the controversial arrest and subsequent release of Regina’s brother, Sammy, said his intervention is not driven by personal ties but by his commitment to justice. He alleged that Ned Nwoko had orchestrated actions targeting Regina and her family, making it necessary for him to speak out as a defender of human rights.

According to Sowore, the billionaire politician allegedly planned to arrest Regina’s mother and even intercepted her phone conversations, intending to use the recordings against her. He further claimed that Nwoko sought to leak Regina’s private information and past dealings as a means of intimidation and control.
Sowore explained his stance in clear terms, stating that his activism is rooted in principle, not popularity or personal benefit.
He said: “I fight for human rights regardless of whether you support me or not. Your support or love for me is not a condition for me to create a society that is fair. I hate it when people use their power… to punish people because they think they can get away with it.”
The activist stressed that no one deserves to be oppressed or silenced due to wealth, influence, or political connections. He argued that his intervention is part of a broader commitment to protecting vulnerable individuals from abuse of power.
The allegations have generated widespread reactions across social media. Some Nigerians applauded Sowore’s consistency and courage in confronting perceived injustice, while others expressed concern about the severity of the claims made against Nwoko.
Sowore maintained that achieving justice for Regina Daniels and her family remains a priority, declaring that he will not withdraw his support until Ned Nwoko is thoroughly held accountable for all alleged wrongdoing.
