New evidence, reportedly revealed by activist Omoyele Sowore, has reignited heated controversy surrounding billionaire businessman and politician Ned Nwoko, alleging that he secretly married popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels when she was still underage. This revelation has sparked widespread outrage online, as many Nigerians are now demanding a full investigation into the matter and accountability from the parties involved.
According to reports, Sowore disclosed what he claims to be verifiable documents contradicting Ned Nwoko’s previous statements about Regina’s age at the time of their marriage. Nwoko had earlier maintained that Regina was 19 years old when they tied the knot in 2019, but the new documents shared by Sowore allegedly prove otherwise, suggesting she was actually younger. This directly challenges Nwoko’s long-standing public narrative and has revived discussions about child marriage, power imbalance, and the influence of wealth in Nigeria’s society.

The passport documents posted on Sowore’s verified page reportedly indicate that Regina Daniels was born in October 2001, which would make her just 17 years old at the time of her marriage to Ned Nwoko in 2019. Sowore further alleged that Nwoko intentionally altered official records to hide her real age. According to him, Ned Nwoko changed her full name from Regina Nneamaka Favour Ojeogwu to Regina Daniels and allegedly obtained a fake INEC voter card to misrepresent her as an adult.
In addition to the age falsification claims, Sowore accused Nwoko of manipulating and controlling Regina through various means. He alleged that Nwoko introduced her to drugs as a way to keep her dependent and compliant. Sowore also suggested that despite the couple’s numerous international trips—to countries like Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt—they avoided traveling to Europe or the United States, possibly to prevent immigration scrutiny over her age at the time of their union.
The activist emphasized that this revelation is not a personal attack on the couple but a call for truth, transparency, and justice. He reminded the public that he had previously shown support for Regina Daniels following the arrest of her brother, Sammy Daniels, who was later released after public pressure. Sowore stated that the new evidence was too serious to ignore, as it raises legal and moral questions about the validity of the marriage and the alleged abuse of power and privilege.
The explosive allegations have since taken over social media platforms, with Nigerians divided in their reactions. While some are demanding that the authorities open an official investigation into the claims, others are calling for caution until more evidence is made public. However, a large section of the public has expressed disappointment and anger, especially over the recurring issue of influential figures allegedly evading the law.
As of now, Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels are yet to issue an official statement addressing Sowore’s claims. Supporters of the couple insist that the allegations are politically motivated, while critics argue that the matter exposes deeper problems within Nigeria’s legal and moral systems. The debate continues to gain traction online, with hashtags like #JusticeForRegina and #UnderageMarriage trending across X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram.
