A lady has stirred reactions online after alleging that Nollywood star Mercy Johnson strongly disapproved of actress Regina Daniels’ marriage to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko, even refusing to speak to her for years.
This revelation comes at a time when Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko are embroiled in a highly publicized marital crisis, following Regina’s claim that Ned ordered the arrest of her brother, Sammy West, who spent days in police detention before being granted bail.
Allegation Sparks Reactions
The claim was made by an X (formerly Twitter) user identified as @BigHotbaby1, who asserted that Mercy Johnson was deeply upset by Regina’s marriage to Ned Nwoko at the time it happened.
According to her, Mercy Johnson’s disapproval was so strong that she allegedly cut off communication with Regina Daniels for several years. She also claimed the actresses only reconciled recently, with Mercy now showing support for Regina amidst her marital turmoil.
She wrote:
“Mercy Johnson Okojie has really tried!!! I still remember how angry she was about that marriage that year!! She didn’t speak to Regina for years because of the whole marriage wahala.
They only just reconciled. And now look at Mama Regina stressing everyone and Mercy again after refusing to listen to anybody. Mercy Johnson is truly a good person. I just pray she’s resting well during all this.”

Her statement comes shortly after Regina Daniels’ brother, Sammy West, regained freedom on bail. He had been arrested on allegations of criminal conspiracy, trespass, intimidation, assault, theft, and cyberbullying—complaints reportedly filed by Ned Nwoko.
Sammy’s arrest intensified the ongoing dispute between Regina and Ned, with the actress accusing the politician of domestic abuse, manipulation, and emotional torment during their marriage.
