A lady, identified as Chaltu Jateny, who claims to be the one sent out along with her boyfriend by Burna Boy for sleeping during his concert, has publicly shared her side of the story amid the viral attention the incident has received on social media and news platforms.
The incident occurred during Burna Boy’s performance in Colorado, where Jateny and her boyfriend were reportedly removed from the venue after the singer called them out for appearing to be asleep during his performance. The video clip of the moment quickly circulated online, drawing reactions from fans, netizens, and entertainment commentators, many of whom debated whether the singer’s action was justified or overly harsh.

Lady speaks out
In a detailed statement she shared online, Jateny described the experience as deeply embarrassing and humiliating, both for herself and her partner, stressing that the way the situation was handled left her feeling publicly shamed. She expressed disappointment with Burna Boy’s approach, stating that he made no effort to understand her circumstances before singling her out in front of the crowd, which she described as unnecessarily harsh.
Lady explains her reasons for dozing off
Chaltu Jateny revealed that her fatigue during the concert was not due to a lack of interest but rather a result of significant emotional and physical stress she had been enduring. She shared that she had been “mentally, physically, and emotionally drained” following the death of her daughter’s father, and attending the concert was her attempt to experience some joy and relief amidst a challenging period in her life. According to her, the long delay before Burna Boy took the stage left her exhausted, and she briefly closed her eyes to rest, unaware that it would lead to such a public confrontation.
Her statement read: “I am the girl that was kicked out of the show last night. I don’t even know where to begin, but that was very embarrassing and humiliating to myself and my boyfriend. Burna Boy could’ve handled that situation better than that. He had no idea what was going on with me and he didn’t even care to ask if I was ok. I have been m@tally, physically and emotionally drained since my daughter’s dad passed away and I came to his show to put a smile on my face after everything that has happened. He took forever to come out and I was tired. We paid to be there and if I wanted to close my eyes and sleep, I can do that. It is my money that I wasted not his. And for all of you in the comment section being nasty, how about showing kindness because you never know what someone is going through.”
Jateny’s account has sparked widespread discussions online, with some people expressing empathy for her situation, while others debated the responsibility of concert-goers to stay attentive during performances. The viral incident has further ignited conversations about fan interactions, performer expectations, and mental health awareness in the context of entertainment events.
The lady’s statements continue to circulate on social media platforms, with users urging understanding and compassion toward individuals facing personal struggles, reminding the public that appearances at high-profile events don’t always reflect the private battles people may be facing.
