BBNaija Season 10 winner, Imisi Ayanwale’s mother has finally spoken at length, breaking her silence to address widespread claims that she abandoned her daughter and only reappeared after Imisi became a star and a millionaire.
Her clarification comes amid viral reports alleging that she distanced herself from her daughter in the past and resurfaced solely because of Imisi's newfound fame and success.
In a widely circulated video online, Imisi’s mother expressed deep gratitude to God and to Nigerians who supported both her and her daughter throughout the reality show journey. She emotionally shared her struggles, explaining how she survived with the help of kind-hearted people.
She said:
“I’ve received mercy from God. Thank you so much to all Nigerians. I’m staying with my younger sister in Ajah. Even though some people didn’t want me around, others welcomed me, clothed me, and fed me. I’ve been happy and at peace.”
Responding to the allegations that she neglected Imisi, she insisted that her silence was out of wisdom, not guilt. She emphasized that she stayed calm because she believed it was the best way to handle the situation, not because she had anything to hide.
She also recounted how she learned of her daughter’s eviction from the BBNaija house, revealing that she received the information unexpectedly and at very short notice.
“I wasn’t told until around 4 p.m. to dress up because Imisi would be leaving the house that day,” she explained.
Appealing to Nigerians, she urged the public to embrace unity and compassion instead of harsh judgment and online attacks.
“Let’s stop tearing each other down. Let love lead instead of hate,” she pleaded.
