Drama on the movie set has escalated after CCTV footage emerged showing Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire apparently initiating a physical confrontation with actor Taye Arimoro, raising concerns about safety and professionalism in the industry.
The altercation reportedly occurred during the filming of a movie produced by Peggy Ovire’s team. According to sources, tensions rose after Taye allegedly refused to film additional scenes requested by the production team, which led to the confrontation captured on camera.

Taye Arimoro claimed that he was blocked from leaving the set after his scheduled call time had expired. He alleged that his vehicle’s tyres were deflated and that he sustained injuries to his lips and gums during the incident. The actor said he had acted within his rights as a cast member and felt intimidated by the production team.
Peggy Ovire, however, disputed Taye’s claims, stating that the actor became aggressive toward crew members and her driver. She emphasized that her intervention was meant to protect her team and maintain order on set. Peggy explained that tensions escalated after Taye refused to continue filming, prompting her to step in and mediate the situation before it spiraled out of control.

The CCTV footage, which is now circulating online, appears to show Taye being physically blocked by a vehicle while surrounded by Peggy and her team. The video also captures Peggy moving aggressively toward Taye, removing her wig, and handing her phone to another person before striking him. Observers have pointed out that the footage indicates rising tensions on both sides, although many criticized the use of physical aggression on a professional set.
Social media has since erupted with reactions from fans, industry watchers, and fellow actors. Many criticized Peggy’s conduct, stressing the need for professional behavior and strict safety protocols on movie sets. A commentator noted, “She didn’t need to do that. Movie sets should be safe for everyone,” while another added, “The footage clearly shows tensions rising, but professionalism should always come first.”
The incident has highlighted broader issues within Nollywood regarding conflict management, safety measures, and the importance of maintaining a respectful environment on set. Industry experts are calling for standardized protocols to prevent similar altercations and ensure that cast and crew members can work without fear of physical confrontation.
As the video continues to circulate online, discussions around accountability, set safety, and actor conduct remain at the forefront, prompting calls for training and stricter enforcement of professional standards in the Nigerian film industry.
